Thank you. You just described my sister. She is different to everybody, nice until she gets what she needs and is cruel to those who she doesn't need anymore. I never felt real with her and never could be myself. She hurts you when you have a problem instead of having compassion. Gets mad at you when you complain about the treatment. You can't reveal to her anything about yourself without getting it used against you. There is no calm moment with her. No understanding. Only pretending. I think she is a narcissist.
She always got what she wanted because she is flattering people who can help her. Everybody loved her and praised how nice she is. Only with me was she always nasty.
She makes you constantly feel like there is something wrong with you, most of the time without actually saying it.
Anyway, thank you for putting me at ease and making me understand that it was not I who was wrong. My mother used to tell me why can't I be like her? I couldn't because I am not a narcissist…

I can only imagine the massive shitstorm that would arise if you did a video like this on any other disorder like PTSD or autism.
Somehow if you've made choices through your life that lead you to develop PTSD; like willingly going to war, you're considered a victim, and will get help and support from society.
If however you get raped and beaten as a child, and develop sociopathy, you're considered a monster, and shunned by society.
Thanks for enforcing the idea that we should shun these people, I'm sure what they need is isolation and resentment from society.
OK, I understand psychopaths are born with these mental conditions and being a sociopath is created through learned behavior. What else makes them different? You talked about a spectrum where (psychopaths) are on one end of the spectrum, (sociopaths) are in the middle and (narcissists) are on the opposite side of the spectrum. Outside of genetics and environment, what separates these conditions on this spectrum?

Hello there, I am a psychology student and I can offer some additional information. I would suppose many of you remember how your parents probably referred to bad people as predators. Ever wonder why that is?
Well when we look at Dark Triad personality types (Machivellian Syndrome, Narcissism, Psychopathy/Sociopathy), it is very useful to describe the situation from a predator and prey perspective. The Dark Triad personality individual is the predator, and they are constantly hunting for the next prey. They are seeking for weaknesses like your insecurity, your disconnect from people, your uncertainty, your body language and so on so forth; and they ruthlessly use you for their own ends for as long as there is something they can gain out from it.
Psychopaths and Socipaths are relatively similar with few slight differences. The person with these traits is best described as the figurative boss, the person who does not ask your opinion or contribution, the person to whom you do exactly as they say or you might as well not exist or be present at all. Psychopaths/Sociopaths are also Sadists, they take pleasure in harming others. Hollywood actors are often good examples.
Machivellian Syndrome is your consequential opportunist. To this person there are no wrong tactics, there are only wrong targets. Your role in their presence is to fill tasks and a failure to do so rewards you with complete disregard. Hillary Clinton is a good example of a Machivellian.
Narcissists, the self lovers, the admirers of self, the self-certified rock stars, the perfectionists. Narcissists are best described as teenagers grown adult. They are very concerned about personal gain and status, they only see self as positive and others neutral or negative. To a Narcissist you are merely is an extension of self of the Narcissist. Donald Trump is a good example of a pathological Narcissist.

You left out the most important trait , thay always must be in controll through manipulatiion , once you stop the manipulation and start to take back the controll thay can get vary violent . And it is true once thay have controll thay use any means to keep it , thay will use your good nature against you, making you feel like you are never doing the right thing, thay also like to make feel sorry for them always acting like there feelings are hurt. I should know be cause I have been married to one for over 20 years .

Sociopaths don't lack Empathy we can feel empathy but only towards certain people we make connections with im a High functioning sociopath my fiance has done research on how my brain works we do have the capavility for love and such it just connects differently it mstly connects with animals it's easier for me to love an innocent dog than it is for me to love an adult human we are rational creatures please refrain from spreading lies.

Isn't it also a symptom of social anxiety and shyness though when a shy person walks into a room they mentally rank everyone in order of status and adjust their personality accordingly? So if there is no one too high up in the room they will feel comfortable but if there is someone high status they will withdraw…is that different, or is a shy person also a destructive person?
I have noticed that character disordered people will say something offensive, and act in a hostile fashion towards one stranger, and then quickly feign a really friendly outgoing personality towards another stranger, with their suggestion being that they are ok, that other people perceive them as ok, that they perceive other people as ok, but that the targetted individual is not ok, or they would not have targettted them. And it is clearly a malicious mindgame.

this sums up my x Girlfriend perfectly… its a pity because she was so talented, she could do anything, but left me totally destroyed for 6 months… I should have seen the signs as she shifted in with me after only a few days, leaving her old home and refusing to go back and collect her things, but I was blinded by her charms…. never again will I fall for the same thing….

they also mirror your values, opinions lifestyle. they are also parasites. and play the victims and make you believe you bought everything on yourself. when you react to there cold behaviour they make you feel that your the mad one! they are also sex addicts. porn addicts. my one I found teenage girls on he's computer. teen porn etc. he was eyeing up my 20 year daughter. he was cruel and violent towards he's 5 year old daughter. he put her down and humiliated her. he avoided paying for stuff. he would forget he's wallet. he would say I will pay you back he never did. I am 10 days out of a nine months relationship with him. I am heart broken humiliated lost confused I feel drained exhausted angry. I can't beleive I was with a con artist. he owes me money and still has other stuff of myn. I have threatened him on anger and he is literally laughing and feeding of my pain. he is not human. I miss the kids they never went near him when I was there. he was so cold to them too. he didn't care. I did everything for the kids now I'm worried for he's daughter. I don't know whether to contact hes ex. but I know he has started telling people it was me and I am nuts. just like what he did to he's ex. he is using my angry to say to people look at this nutter I am dealing with. I feel so lost and hurt. I don't know what to do or where to turn. he took 100s of me. he used me. when I started calling him out he would never ever own or take any responsibility. he would blame me for everything. even he's own mum and dad was weird towards him. he never introduced me to he's friends. never added me on fb etc. when things were not adding up that's when I started snooping and that's when I found out about porn and everything else. God knows what he was doing behind my back. not heard a word from him. after nine months of being there and doing everything for him. taking care of he's children. its like I never exsisted. I know the kids will be crying for me. even if I wasn't there for a night they would cry for me. I miss the kids. this is the most awful thing I've ever gone through.
