I was 14 and my father set me up with this guy to marry me off. (1st clue). He was older in his 20's wealthy and owned a red corvette and was good looking. He also amazingly got along with my abusive controlling mother (2nd clue) Where he totally messed up was when we went out for a drive and I was smoking a cigarette he totally went off on me and ORDERED me to stop smoking. (3rd clue). I told him straight out that he was acting like my mother and I was never going to marry someone who treated me like that and I told him ''THIS RELATIONSHIP IS OVER!!" He just sighed and took me home and I never saw him again.

My covert ex wife ended the first date early saying we were done. Next night she asked me out and apologized. She told me she had trouble processing things. Second date unfolded like a fairy tale then at the end she said she was going out with another guy the next day and she wanted to keep everything above board. Of course that turned out to be just nothing as all her odd statements always did. She wasn't as concerned about playing above board once we were married though and I was finding dating sight history on the laptop.

how do you know if yourself or someone close to you could be a narcissist? i mean, nobody is perfect and i think all people do things that they arent proud of from time to time, dont we display some narcissistic traits at times, so how do you differentiate from a condition to just human nature with people being more or less narcissistic?

OMG on my first date with my covert narc he got annoyed when a homeless person crossed the road in front of his car he adored his car saying look at that id never get like that how weak, i was speechless as i had worked with homeless people and many have mental illness who knows what this guys story was! i just brushed it off at the time but wish i hadnt six months later i saw the light never there for me in a crisis, heartless, boring didnt like to socialise had routines but it was the lack of sex after he had snared me with great sex that finally killed it for me, i heard every excuse and he hated me touching him in most areas i couldnt take the rejection any more he knew i hated it too but wouldnt even try oh and the only man ive ever met who didnt like oral sex i could go on but i didnt with him and thats the main thing! Oh if he gets annoyed by the mere sound of children doesnt have them or want them has never been married or wants to be or really runs down a friends fiancee oh shes going to bleed him dry, take it from me these are narc red flags and run!

mine ALWAYS says, look what you made me do. Drives me insane!!!! He wont take the blame for ANYTHING!!! I am having such a hard time believing that the man i have been with the last 22 yrs is so messed up, but i am also having a hard time believing that he is normal!!! HE IS NOT NORMAL!!! Did he ever love me???
A narcissist will also say "I am not calling this next two days, to give you some time to yourself"…Like he owns your time???

The first date they will pay, and they will ask a lot of questions… Like they are interested in you, what they are looking for are things like
1. you have been in a relationship before and gone to any lengths to make peace and make somebody happy,
2 you are the type of person that will always go the extra mile for somebody .
3. You have a deep well, for him to draw from
They will pay, they will sound interested, but if he really is a narc it will not last long, it won't be long before he needs help with money, tells you all of his exes have cheated, and begins to tell you "his story " … He will make you feel like you are the only one who understands him and has a key to all of his problems. The key doesn't open anything by the way.
Does he tell you all his exes are still in love , creating demand .

Mr Sam, I wished I would have watched your videos six months ago I got all things you described in videos, particularly in this video. I met my Ex online he bombarded texts to me, he talked about having kids on the first date, called me a Panda, that's his nick name for me, he said he never thought he could meet a love, a lady of his life online so he was so happy having me. during 4 months of dating he verbally abused me till one day he discarded me &jumped to online dating again & said he would be mine forever if I made my butt bigger, my thights smaller, my tummy reduced, especially he obsessed a red nails & black hair he always wanted me having red nails, he always cares my nails. That's his sex stimuli.
He showed all obvious signs till I was discarded I didn't have knowledge about mental illness or what narcissism is. Now I look back I saw many Narc around me, they chased me I didn't involve with them coz I didn't like them, till my Ex came I lowered my boundaries so he totally destroyed my soul, I m still healing. I m afraid I attract Narc again.
Two classic narcissist statements when they're gaslighting you during an argument which they start yet blame entirely on you is " You know what your problem is?" or "You always do this!" I can't tell you how many times I've heard this. And on a first date, run for the hills if they ever say to you "Run away with me and have my babies." LOL. Looking back and having given myself almost 100% closure is to remember my ex bf animated used to get. One time I burst out laughing after he was waving his arms and moving his entire body around trying to make a point. It was total and complete narcissistic rage followed by 5 days of the silent treatment. Actually it was like a vacation for me when I didn't have to deal with him. Love yourself first and everyone else second. It's only being true to yourself so you can love others and not rely on being dependent on someone's love and affection. When you are one with yourself, that's all that matters. Peace.

Our first "date": April, 1, 2014. I missed EVERY sign of my abusive FEMALE psychopath. For years, she has told ALL 1000 FB "friends" (as well as ALL co-workers) that she lives ALONE with her 3 kids and can't make ends meet. Our first couple dates didn't go "well", but I took pity on her for her "hard life at home" and continued as "friends". She insisted on a reg. basis that she and her "ex" don't get along AT ALL and they had to resort to him "pulling up and honking the horn" for visitation for the son, etc. I gave her 8k in cash over a 6-mo. period and ended up buying her a new loaded Civic EX which I found out TOO late, she promptly drove straight home to show her husband whom she has been living with since the day they were married 9 years ago. Now, I'm out a total of 33 grand with NO recourse. I've been told 2 different things by 2 different attorneys. I give up. I am cutting my losses and running. I saw the famous "death stare" from her that so many people talk about and it still haunts me.

I'm often drawn to narcissists (the charismatic, successful leaders), but leave them first – drained and unhappy. So I wouldn't call myself a total co-dependant, but I definitely need to explore what excites me so much about such relationships.
I probably also have some of the characteristics myself, although I do feel a lot of empathy and love for others. So it's not all black and white.
