Breaking the Silence on Domestic Violence: My Story

My name is Heather. My husband, an active duty Army soldier of 16 years threatened my life and the lives of my 2 boys in January 2015 before he attacked me. He was arrested. He has been found at fault with the military and the Commonwealth of Virginia had sufficient evidence to find him guilty as well. He was placed in the “first offenders program” for 2 years. I was simply given a no contact order which hasn’t stopped him at all. The constant and unending harassment, stalking, slander, against…

So You’re Divorcing A Narcissist – 4 Steps To A Successful Escape

So You’re Divorcing A Narcissist – 4 Steps To A Successful Escape

A marriage to a narcissist can be a miserable and bewildering experience. Due to the hard wiring of someone affected with malignant narcissism, your narcissistic spouse commits very hurtful acts, leaving you confused, in pain, and often questioning your own sanity. With a lack of empathy, willingness to use others to get ahead, a grandiose sense of self worth and exaggerated accomplishments, an attitude of entitlement and haughtiness, requirement for extreme levels of admiration, idealized fantasies about ideal love, beauty, or power, and jealousy over the success of others, the…

Pieced together narrative from random footage shot around the house one summer evening. Despite the lack of a preconceived conceptual idea, I think it turned out rather evocative and oddly cohesive. Nevertheless, I’d like to expand upon this in the near future. Maybe a simple story about a guy sociopath who ventures around town leaving ambiguous notes for people? Hmm. The original goal of this “exercise” was to get some pretty images and make ’em even prettier in Magic Bullet, as this would be my first experiment using that software….

So Quiet.

So Quiet.

How you approached the assignment and what you hoped to achieve? I approached the assignment with an open mind, not really knowing how I was going to go about getting my point across. What I hoped to achieve was to get across a character who is a sociopath who doesn’t have any regard for other human’s lives. Why is the subject matter interesting to you? As I said in my first project, I always find mental or psychological pieces interesting and I love playing around with those themes in my…

Dusty [Short Film]

Dusty [Short Film]

Grave Mistake Films and Parachute Pictures proudly present a non-profit, impulsive mess of a horror comedy, featuring some killer music (no pun intended), light infantile humor and its fair share of narrative flaws. However, this movie was a lot of fun to make and I can’t thank my talented friends enough for helping turn this idea into something that you will hopefully enjoy. Dusty tells the tale of three friends who are planning to spend three days at their friend Ernie’s cottage in the middle of nowhere. But something is…

Divorcing a Narcissist

Divorcing a Narcissist

What to Know About The Divorce System: How Bad Can it Get? The system of family law is inherently flawed. It is adversarial where it should not be. Civil Codes and family laws are ignored. Lawyers perjure themselves for their clients, make character assassinations and other heinous acts as routine as filing a motion. Lawyers are abusive, expensive and when they become the problem instead of the solution, it’s time to say so. Some who have read this say, “So what? – My divorce was so much worse.” Others refuse…
