You pretty much describe my father-in-law. I won't post it but if I wrote all the things that have happened with him you would be blown away. Not by surprise but just how awful it all is. His behavior nearly wrecked my faith. Somehow God brought me through it. This man nearly ruined my marriage and it's crazy how at the time everyone in the family would always stand by him and defend him. I was the crazy one because I was an "outsider." Loyalty was number one. The whole time I'm thinking no I'm not going to be loyal to this sick nutcase. I never thought about all this as narcissism. I don't think I really knew the meaning.

Again, I'm so sorry about your brother. You're right, your mother was getting supply from him even in death. I've seen people do that. I've seen my mother do that i've always been suspicious of people who 'like' to go to funerals. They may have never even known the person, yet they will show up. Something inside the narcs enjoys seeing people suffer, I suppose.
The woman who pretended to be a 9/11 survivor doesn't surprise me at all. These people show up at any tragedy. I watched the mother of a victim of the Orlando shooting make the rounds with the media. What clued me in to her narcissism is that she continued to cry on camera…yet she didn't shed one tear.
