This is dangerous and irresponsible misinformation! Dealing with a narcissist isn't just this mild, lighthearted annoyance. They purposely set out to hurt people and have no remorse. They feel pleasure from others pain. They are diabolical.
this is crazy a true narc can not change. leveling with them and telling them there is a problem especially saying "I feel" will make you a fun punching bag they truly don't care what you think. way off the mark here.
oh my God!1 Dr Townsend does not know his stuff. what happens when they threaten to kill you because they can't get what they want? He has NO idea, no reality of the concept of narcissism. what happens when they threaten you with (for the third time in 5 weeks) 7 days of silent treatment, and then deliver it? They are out punish and manipulate and they stop at nothing to extract a pound of flesh should you cause them a minor injury. Is he really talking about the same people? Unrealisitic at best, dangerous is a better describer. these people are actually inhuman, they have NO feelings of empathy or guilt. You can't teach them anything. They may appear to learn, but it is purely manipulation to get you softened for the next round of torture. Please! This guy has no idea what he is talking about.
