It’s normally a nervous ticking motion of my head to the left and then I know it has begun. I have this obsession with seeing my reflection in everything, with gazing back into my eyes in the most unseemly surfaces. No façade is out of the question if you put enough energy and elbow grease into it and you can tell from my enlarged right bicep. Some say I am a narcissist, but I believe that narcissists have vanished and have been replaced by an illusory self. The narcissist is merely a hall of mirrors, but the hall itself is an optical illusion of sorts, kind of like an Escher engraving. He exists only as a reflection, and since he is forbidden from loving his true self, he choses to have no self at all. Its not so much dissociation, but more of a vanishing act.
