The possibility of being rejected or unwelcome triggers a feeling of anxiety in me… It makes me want to escape and cut off my feelings for a person who despises me. Not because I don't feel admired, because I regard admiration as a relative, subjective thing, but because I don't like to be an obstacle for that person.
Does that make me a narcissist?
I am actually here because I am divorcing a narcissist man, but since narcissism is hard to see and accept for the narcissist, I wonder if I myself am one, but haven't realized it yet…
I want to know because our children are 6 and 8, and I would like to break the circle for them to have a better-quality life.
Hi Sam ~ I have been endlessly watching your videos…. You were the reason I finally had my breakthrough of understanding….and understanding why and that it wasn't me and I'm not crazy after all, so thank you deeply for that. I believe from what you have described, and knowing my abusive past with my parents, that I grew up and still am an empath and I think codependent, but I haven't done a lot of research on that? I am so much better, clearer and healthy now that I have left my narcissistic husband but I still want to ask you a question….. Do Narcissists ever change? For say, the "next woman?" I'm still teetering back and forth with "believing that I wasn't at fault at all and that it was not me at all – even his 1st ex wife went thru this and she was a completely different woman than me… very submissive and quiet. I fought back and challenged him because I did not like how I was being treated and finally couldn't take it anymore…. but what I keep wondering is – "Was it me? My strong personality? The fact that I fought back? Will he meet someone who is softer and quieter and it will be a good fit for him? Or will he treat every woman the same eventually?" I feel like I already know this answer because like I said – his 1st wife was that soft, quiet person and she eventually cheated on him for 4 years and then shared with me all the "very similar stories" that I coincidentally had with him as well. Thank you for your response in advance.
You have based this on infidelity. But what if it is not the case.He is simply "jealous, possessive, narcissistic" – she is not having ANY relationships…he is VERY controlling..of jealously???= He need s help & I don't know how to advise my friend- his girlfriend.
This all fits my exhusbands tatll personality and delusions
They are all nuts.Simple
Wow you have pinpointed every aspect of a narcissist. These points sound like excerpts from my diary. My ex is a narcissist, I know only a pro can diagnose him, but four years living with him I think Im right about him.
This video is the most truth about Narcissists I have ever heard of in my life. The number of times I heard things like "you're forgetting your place" or my favorite "…because I'm the dominant one" have made me respond "had I known that, I would've never signed up for this relationship" on many occasions.
Funny how at the time, I didn't know there was a mental disorder involved, but this video describes my sentiments and verbiage about the invisible relational contract to a T.
There is no contract. Narcissists just want to control you while doing whatever they want to do.
Holy Cow. The contractual dynamic….OH GOD…I see now
Wonderful
"he drowns the immediate emotional needs of his partner in a torrent of irrelevant frivolities"…. Anytime you try to talk to a Narcissist about an issue at hand they just don't answer you, or talk about frivolous things, like the color of the car outside…frivolities! Your child could be dying in the hospital or his mistress could be sleeping in your own home and he will ignore the elephant in the room, EVEN when ALL you NEED is ONE WORD from him for it ALL to STOP. He won't give the word.
Three "don't likes" from Narcissists ???? – 107 likes from the enlightened victims !!
These talks are fantastic
U know what ? I wouldn't say I have npd but I do believe I

Suspicous Minds
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds (With suspicious minds)
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
So if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see the tears are real
I'm crying (Yes, I'm crying)
We can't go on together
With suspicious minds (With suspicious minds)
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
Oh, let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Mmm, yeah, yeah
We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
Don't you know we're caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know we're caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know I'm caught in a trap?
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much, baby
Don't you know I'm caught in a trap…
you are talking about my wife and I
Thank you. I have tried many times to get him to leave. I wish I could just leave but its my house. Hoping that tomorrow he leaves like he says he is going to but I'm certain he wont leave without a fight. You are helping me exercise my strength. I finally told family members about him which is a big step for me. I don't care if he breaks everything in my house just hope he will go tomorrow.
Your understanding of NPD is really incredible. You have an insight I don't believe many others grasp. Amazing. I wish I could have coffee with you and pick your brain.
The Scumbag has been gone for over a year, but yet the legacy he left behind has been an emotional rollercoaster. Now in order to heal I have to look at why I always choose to be with men who have the same characteristics as a father who abandoned us before I was born but somehow I knew him and did get to know him a few years before he died and he was still a narcissistic abuser.
Thank you… you are my Angel and save my life, I am living for 3 years with one psycho narcisist… He want I finish in a psyquiatric hospital, is a man with a lot of power, I was thinking I am crazy… thank you is the day more happy in my life after I see all your videos
So I have researched. Just kidding. That is my tip of the day for. Y'all. Below
The narcissist that can't or won't be self aware will be slaughtered mentally by the narcs that are. The narcissist, male or female that knows how and why they operate can be a kind of chameleon. And view any other victim that can't be self aware as "primitive". And esp. Fun to play with
why is it that the guy is always made out to be the bad guy?
This is my N. He makes up scenarios where I'm cheating because I didn't answer one of his phone calls. If I get into a relationship while he's with someone else& we end up running into each other N's full of rage towards because I'm cheating on him. I had no idea he truly feels slighted. Strange thing is he never cheats on any of his girlfriends at the time even if he has sex with another woman. All he has to say is the sex never happened& to provide evidence of the contrary is to be discarded.
Perfect description of my ex and i'm a heterosexual male.
I am a narcissist. I hate it so much. It's horrible.
I always run these scenarios in my head of how things will happen. But my intent (consciously) is to make as many as i can happy around me. Because if the people around me are happy, I feel happy too.
But i wish she made me feel as special as i try and want to make her feel. But if a special someone isn't happy being with me, I have no right to make her stay, and I won't.
I will change!
Wow, great video! This describes my father perfectly. X(
Per your clip here how can the partner of the narcissist break away from their neurotic hold on the partner? Please respond as I'm living the nightmare, telling the Narcissist only provokes rage I have blocked in so many ways and levels but 2 months on away drama, rage and obsession are constant
Madonna, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton . . . . . and so many more
Could you give a few examples of Hollywood-film narcissists? There must be quite a few…
About 25% of narcissists are women.
so, women aren't narcissists?
