5 thoughts on “Protect Yourself From a Narcissist – 10 Awareness Points

  1. I've been studying NPD since 2007. I've listened to thousands of videos on YouTube and this is the most accurate descriptive succinct video I've ever heard. Thank you.

  2. I have an elderly narcissistic mother who goes into absolute hysterics, ranting and screaming like I'm the one abusing her, when I try to assert or restate my boundaries. Any advice on how to handle a person whose goal seems to be to escalate at all cost? It often feels like the calmer I try to remain the more determined she is to upset me and she only calms down after she sees I'm upset or stressed.
I really think I feel extreme hatred from her to me and no matter how much I try to ignore it, it seems to have a negative effect on me by osmosis (so to speak).

  3. He told me I was "grooming him for abuse" while he was the one doing that very thing. Always telling me I was 'hurting him' but couldn't tell me what I said to hurt him when I'd question him about it. I called him out on everything. He told me he didn't think he wanted to be friends with me after I stood up to him. I wasn't an easy enough target obviously.

  4. thank you so much-video really helps.

  5. Thank you so much for this. I have someone who reminds me of this. I feel like I'm always the bad person and that it's always my fault when something goes wrong in her life. It feels so freeing to know I'm not alone in this. I will protect myself. I may feel selfish but it's for my mental health. I cannot keep getting my emotions involved with her drama. I can't keep doing this.
