A documentary based on what was once thought to be a beautiful love story. It is a story of romance and love, deception and betrayal, devastation and loss. It takes a candid look into the struggle to recover post relationship with a narcissistic, romantic sociopath.

Sociopaths and narcissists lack emotional empathy and conscience. They prey on those that are loving, kind and compassionate. The romantic sociopath is very charming and engaging. They will love bomb you, and will make you believe you are the love of their lives. They will tell you that you are special and different. Sadly, you are just an object to them.

The person you thought you knew never was. The love of your life is your abuser. You know that what happened to you isn’t normal — it isn’t anything you have experienced before. It isn’t an isolated incident either, because the sociopath has done this to many others before. They lie in an alarming extent to conceal their character, and their secret double and triple lives. They will con you out of whatever they need from you; the spectrum is broad. Whether it be adoration, sex, money, or to fill a void they have that can never be filled; They will leave you empty, traumatized and devastated.

The pain the sociopath caused you isn’t an ordinary heartbreak; it isn’t something that is comprehensible. You find yourself in that dark place, searching for answers, trying to make sense of it all. Along this painful journey, you find other voices and stories very similar to yours. The struggle and pain to recover amongst these victims is very difficult. It brings on deep depression and recurring feelings of anxiety and trauma. This film will delve into the mindset of the sociopath, the negative impact they have on their victims, and how these relationships differ from with an emotionally normal person.

They aren’t socially inept; they have learned what is acceptable by society; they wear a mask of normalcy. Sadly, most people are charmed by the sociopath, as they are are capable of fooling everyone around them. Behind their loving demeanor lies something very sinister.

Whether the abuse is narcissistic, sociopathic, or from a psychopath; the pain and the journey to recovery is the same.

The goal is to bring about a deeper understanding of narcissistic and sociopathic personalities in romance and how dangerous it is for victims. Through educating the public on how these predators operate, we hope potential victims will see the warning signs clearly and save themselves from the emotional trauma that will follow being in a relationship with them. This film will also explore a new proposed legislation that may be a possible means to deter sociopaths. It raises the question on what some of society considers acceptable, may indeed be a crime.
