‘You Look Familiar’ is a music video I created to abstractly celebrate my inability to remember sexual partners that I have had over the years instead of beating myself up about. Memory has always been an issue with me, especially because I have always had friends with photographic memories. I have created mythical characters who exist as if in a dream. But the viewer is asked to decide if they are separate or all of the same person. ‘It’s not so hard to believe, it could very well be, when I look at your face, I’m seeing me.’
The Characters include Eagleman and Shadowman who appear as if out of a fable. Eagleman can be seen in human masked form and as a kite. Shadowman is presented in black, as if a shadow but with the ability to be earthly and mystical at the same time. I present myself as the third character, the narcissist gazing into the mirror, entertaining myself as well as the viewer.
